At each meeting, Rotarian’s are able to give a “Happy Dollar” to celebrate a joyous or happy event. At the end of the president’s term, he or she can donate this money to an organization of their choosing. This year’s President Jacq Buck chose to donate the “Happy Dollar” monies to two different organizations. The first check was given to Carolina Wildlife Center. Jay Coles, Executive Director was on hand to accept the check. He gave a little bit of background on what Carolina Wildlife Center has been doing over the last few months. This money will go to help continue their mission of helping injured animals get back to the wild. The second check was presented to the club’s sponsored prison Rotaract club for discretionary use for re-entry into the community. Ginny Barr who is the founder of this program and is the club liaison to this program was on hand to accept the check.
