Our speaker Wednesday morning was Mr. Alan Buck. He is no stranger to our club as he is the brother of club member Brian Buck. He has also spoken to our club before about the electric car industry. On Wednesday, however, he spoke to our club out Bitcoin and Blockchain. He tried to simplify the term for the club members and explain exactly what Bitcoin is. It is a cryptocurrency that does not require a centralized bank system. Bitcoin was formed in 2009 during the recession when the banking systems failed. Because the technology is still new and there are still too many ways for your Bitcoins to be stolen through the dark web, Mr. Buck didn’t recommend going out and purchasing any. It is always a pleasure to hear what Mr. Buck has to say. The membership enjoyed hearing him speak.
