Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust is a project of the Rotary Clubs in the Southeast.  C.A.R.T. Fund was founded by South Carolina Rotarians in 1995 as a way to raise money for this ongoing fight.  At each meeting we empty our pockets of loose change to go towards our fundraising goals.  Over 4 million dollars in grant money has been awarded during the 29 years history of these efforts.  The C.A.R.T. fund provides dollars for innovative research to fight Alzheimer’s disease.  100% of all funds go to Alzheimer Disease Research.

The Lake Murray-Irmo Rotary Club has taken C.A.R.T. Fund bucket fundraising to a new level.    This year we have begun placing the C.A.R.T. fund buckets into local businesses to extend our reach in the community and increase awareness of Alzheimer Disease research.   On November 12th, club President Stan Bugner and club Administrator Jacq Buck presented the idea to the Irmo Chamber of Commerce.   Chamber members emptied their pockets of loose change during the meeting and multiple businesses took C.A.R.T. Fund Buckets to display.  If you are interested in having a C.A.R.T. fund bucket on display at your local business feel free to use our flyers below and ask for a bucket.  Every bit of change makes a difference.
