The Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo is a strong group of business professionals that are civic and community minded. Our weekly breakfast meetings allow us to enjoy fellowship while striving for common interests.   We believe that service to our community is an extremely important aspect of our club membership. We believe that we have a responsibility to work to improve our communities. Our club members regularly serve their community through participation in various community service projects. The club is active in both the Adopt-A-Highway and Meals- on-Wheels programs. We work with the Interact clubs of Dutch Fork High School and DJJ to provide young people with support and guidance through meaningful service projects. Additionally, the club is committed to education and provides scholarships to deserving students attending college through the Ambassadorial Scholarship program. The club also partners with area elementary schools to recognize an outstanding student each month.

Fundraising is also an important part of what we do as we support local charities like the District 5 Foundations Snack Pack program.  Each year we host a golf tournament as well as participate in a Carraba’s Luncheon and a Belk Charity fundraising sale event to put towards local charities as well as scholarships.  The Lake Murray-Irmo Rotary Club has taken C.A.R.T. Fund (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) bucket fundraising to a new level.    This year we have begun placing the C.A.R.T. fund buckets into local businesses to extend our reach in the community and increase awareness of Alzheimer Disease research.

We are looking forward to participating in the district conference being held in Columbia, SC this year in March and hope we can connect with other clubs nearby to move forward with sharing great ideas to help our communities.
