Paul Harris Fellows!  IMG952415  IMG952417IMG952413IMG952418IMG952420
It was a busy meeting this past Wednesday!!!  Our club was proud to recognize some of our many multiple Paul Harris award recipients. We also were proud to witness Mr Lyman Whitehead present a Paul Harris Fellow to his step son Jeffrey Ashworth. Dr. Roz Browning was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow by Scott and Bob Moseley because of the exemplary care she has given to their parents and grandparents through ailing health.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
It was established in 1957 to show appreciation for and encourage substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to Ambassadorial Scholarships.
Rotarian Eddie Robinson received recognition for becoming a Benefactor to the Rotary Foundation.
We also had the honor to welcome a number of new members!  The Rotary Club of Lake Murray Irmo welcomed transfer member John Halloran. John has relocated to the Irmo area and we are thrilled he found our club to call home. We also inducted two new members into our club. Larry Wedekind who is a graduate of the Citadel and works for the SC Attorney General’s Office and Ryan Alphin who is the Executive Director of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Association. We are thrilled to have both gentleman join our club and look forward to working along side them in our community as we know they will exemplify the Rotary motto “service above self”
